Warmer Homes Scotland
A Scottish Government scheme providing free energy efficiency improvements — including heat pump installation — to homeowners and private tenants who are struggling to heat their homes. If you qualify, you could receive £10,000 or more at no cost to you.
How Much Can You Get?
- Eligible households can receive £10,000 or more towards energy improvements
- This can cover a free heat pump installation, insulation and other measures
- The Scottish Government meets all or most of the costs
Do You Qualify?
- You are a homeowner or private tenant in Scotland
- The property is your primary residence
- You are struggling to afford to heat your home
- You or someone in your household is aged 75+, terminally ill, or receives a qualifying benefit such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support, Housing Benefit, Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit
- The property meets the tolerable standard for habitation
If you don't qualify for Warmer Homes Scotland, you may still be eligible for the Home Energy Scotland Grant of up to £7,500 — available to all homeowners regardless of income.

Eligibility Assessment
An advisor assesses your eligibility and refers your case to Warmworks, who deliver the scheme.
Home Assessment
Warmworks carry out a home assessment and confirm what improvements are available to you.
Free Installation
Approved improvements are installed by MCS certified engineers at no cost to you.
We'll confirm your eligibility for Warmer Homes Scotland as part of your free survey and point you in the right direction if you qualify.
